Quick Impact Group
Quick Impact Studio is a company owned by professional people. We specialise in multimedia and craft. The company was established in 2013 with a passion to innovate and have an impact in the multimedia industry. The combination of new technology, innovation, teamwork and a consistent hunger for perfection drives our passion to be one of the leaders in our industry.
We work with corporate clients, non-profit organisations and broadcasters from around the world, using our local knowledge, experience in photography, graphic design and print media to deliver outstanding products and services to our market.
Challenges Being Faced During COVID-19
We had to close shop immediately when lock down started, and this left us with no revenue streams as our services did not fall under essential services. The business was already struggling prior lockdown due to the pandemic and did not perform well in the last few month of trade as well. Our running costs are more or less R60 000 for each month so we were unable to meet our target causing us to fall behind on most payments and left us unable to pay full salaries for the month of March and April. Without any financial backup, the survival of the company and the jobs of its employees lies at risk and we remain with an uncertain duration period for the lockdown.
What Will The Donations Be Used For?
The company was already taking financial strain due to this pandemic way before the lockdown. We had not paid salaries fully since the lockdown as we depend solely on sales.
Some of the cost will therefore be used for salaries, and to reduce arrears on the operating costs, so that once the lockdown is lifted we are found in a better position to continue trading.
The allocated grant regardless of the sum will go a long way to assisting us as we battle to get back on our feet and do our best to ensure our employees are cared for during this time.
How does our work impact the community/give-back?
We are very passionate about training and creating jobs for the youth, especially those with no educational background in our industry but are eager to learn. Most of our team is made up of such youth. Who we normally provide paid internships for, for a certain period of time doing our best to equip them should we not hire them permanently, to either work as freelancers, to get employment in bigger companies or even start something of their own. We also provide the same opportunities for unemployed graduates in our field looking to gain experience and sharpen their skills.
We do our best to partner with relevant SME’s in our neighbourhood for services that we do not provide but are related to our business. That way we create a market for them and improve service experience for our clientele.
We are a self-made company from humble beginnings of a desk corner in an internet café, in the seven years of trading we have created employment for over 30 youth in the country. We now operate independently with a revenue of over half a million to date Quick Impact Group now employs 4 people on contractual and permanent basis.
We have worked with small to medium corporate companies, we have also worked with several government departments like F.A.O, UN and NEPAD. We have managed to help many start-up companies create corporate images for themselves and have witnessed many of them grow through the years.
A few of the youth who have been employed by the company have now went on to study further in the media field and some have opened their own companies that are doing well. Before the lockdown we were working on expanding our current space and this would guarantee at least 4-6 more people permanent employment.
